Applying for a Place

Horbury Academy is a mixed, 11-16 academy, situated in the heart of Horbury. We are immensely proud of our academy and we strongly believe that all students are entitled to experience the full breadth of education; reflected through our diverse curriculum model and extensive extracurricular and enrichment offer.

If you were unable to attend our Open Evening, but would still like to visit our school, please contact info@horburyacademy.com and flag your message for the attention of our Transition Lead. We will do our best to arrange a visit or tour for you and your family.

If you would like to apply for a place at our academy, you can do so via the Wakefield Council Parent Portal. The deadline for on-time applications is 31 October 2026. Applying on time is the best way to secure your preferred choice for your child.
